Look at the photo I chose for this post.
What do you see in the little girl’s eyes?
No, seriously. Don’t read on yet.
What do you see?
A client asked me, “What would you change about our medical device website?” And as I recognized a blog post in the answer, the little girl provided the perfect image.
She is looking at you with joy. Yes, it’s a picture of her… but it’s really a picture of you… the way you make her feel.
Same thing for you and your marketing efforts. How does your website make me feel?
When I visit, I get that this is “your website.” I expect you to tell me what you do.
But make it about me.
My client’s site was very “This Is What We Do” and “We Can Help You.”
It would be better if the communication was “I see you need help with [x]. Here’s something that can help you. And if we can serve you personally, we’d be happy to… there are plenty of ways to get in touch!”
Too subtle? I don’t think so.
Do you think so? Did this short post resonate with you?
